Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 8, 2026
1. Introduction
The use of Specter ("Bot") in a server requires the collection of some specific user data ("Data"). Use of the Bot or its website is considered an agreement to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with the collection of Data described here, remove the Bot from your server and stop using the website.
2. Data Collected
The Bot collects Data needed for its features to function. This includes Discord user IDs, server IDs, moderation case history (case type, reason, duration, moderator, and any notes added by staff), member snapshots (username, display name, nickname, avatar URL, roles, and join date) used by the anti-nuke system to restore a server after an attack and to log role changes for members Discord no longer has cached, quarantine records, invite tracking records (which invite a member joined through, who created that invite, and when the member joined or left), ticket records (owner, channel, status, and timestamps), per-server economy balances and inventories, counting game statistics (per-member correct counts and fails), short-lived anti-raid signals (user ID, account creation date, username, avatar hash, and join or message timestamps, kept for at most one hour to detect raids), and server configuration such as the prefix, log channels, and staff roles. No other Data is collected.
3. Data Not Collected
The Bot does not store regular message content in its database. Message content is processed in memory for spam detection and for the Bot's commands, and is discarded shortly after. When a message is deleted or edited, or when a ticket is closed, its content may be posted into log channels chosen by the server's administrators; that content stays inside the server's own Discord channels and is not kept by the Bot. The only text stored in the database is text given to the Bot directly, such as moderation reasons and case notes. The Bot has no access to email addresses, passwords, payment details, IP addresses, or anything outside of Discord.
4. Use of Data
Data is used only to provide the Bot's functionality: moderation and cases, anti-nuke recovery, spam and alt detection, anti-raid protection, invite tracking, tickets, welcome and verification systems, the economy, and the counting game. Data is not shared with any third party, and is not used for advertising or analytics of any kind.
5. Access and Storage
Data is stored in a database. The database is secured to prevent external access, however no guarantee is provided. Access to Data is only permitted to the Bot's developers, and only in the scope required to develop, test, and run the Bot's features. Should the database ever be compromised, affected servers will be notified through the support server.
6. Data Retention
Data is kept only for as long as the Bot needs it. When the Bot is removed from a server, that server's Data becomes eligible for deletion and is removed manually or on request rather than immediately. Some Data is cleaned up automatically: member snapshots are removed when a member leaves, quarantine records are removed when the quarantine is lifted, and anti-raid signals expire automatically after one hour. Invite records keep the join and leave dates of past members so invite statistics stay accurate; these can be deleted on request.
7. Removal of Data
At any time, you have the right to request to view or delete the Data pertaining to your Discord account or server. Requests can be made through the support server, and server Data requests must come from a server administrator. Requests are normally handled within a few days, unless the Data has to be kept to enforce the Terms of Service or for legal reasons.
8. Underage Users
The use of the Bot is not permitted for minors under the age of 13. This is in compliance with the Discord Terms of Service. No information will be knowingly stored from an underage user; if such Data is found, report it through the support server and it will be deleted.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be updated at any time. Changes will be announced in the support server, and continued use of the Bot after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
10. Contact
Questions or requests about this Policy can be sent to the Specter Team through the support server.
